Comet, a MetroStar solution, is a React and TypeScript Component Library implementation of USWDS. Comet has charting and data visualization capabilities and custom components that allow design and development teams to confidently get working functionality in the hands of users quicker, with less overhead, allowing teams to focus on the mission, not the code. Our primary objective was to make accessible designs even easier to implement and scale for the civictech community, empowering them to deliver mission-critical digital services. This became the driving force behind our mission to enhance and extend the capabilities of the USWDS. We accomplished this by incorporating AI and additional modular integrations, enabling us to provide an enterprise-level framework that accelerates and scales the design system across any agency.
