How to get to and from the City and the Airport
San Diego International Airport is right on the edge of the City and is less than a 5 minute taxi ride to and from downtown San Diego. Taxis are a quick and inexpensive form of transport, while buses cost only $1.50 (US dollars). Shuttle buses are also freely available and you can always rent a car. All the international and national car rental companies have a presence at San Diego International.

How to get around in San Diego
City buses are a popular form of transport in San Diego, servicing all parts of the City, surrounding areas and Coronado. The bus system is very efficient, the routes well planned and laid-out, with the only concern being they do not run late into the night. There's a ferry service which connects Coranado Island and the Broadway Pier, there's a train service which services the northern coastal parts of the City from the Santa Fe station, and there are trolley buses running in various parts of the City. Most of downtown San Diego down to the Convention Center area on the harbour is easy accessed by walking. From many of the downtown hotels you can practically explore most of the City highlights on foot. There are plenty of taxis too and these are available at all times of day.
