How to get to and from the City and the Airport
Adelaide Airport is just 4 miles, or 6.4 kilometres, from the centre of Adelaide. The Government-run Transit Bus is an efficient way of getting to and from the City and costs around $6 (Australian dollars). There are plenty of taxis available at ranks outside the terminal, and fleets of taxis arrive to meet each of the flights. The cost of a taxi fare is generally in the order of $20 (Australian dollars). All the international car rental companies have offices on-site at the Adelaide Airport.
How to get around in Adelaide
The City is relatively compact and all the major City hotels, department stores, restaurants and pubs, Rundle Mall and the Casino are all easily accessed on foot. There are numerous Transit Bus services that traverse all over Adelaide and the surrounding areas. One of the most popular destinations is Glenelg Beach and the easiest way to access it is by tram. There is a tram linking Glenelg Beach and a stop right in the centre of the City. Taxis are freely available and are relatively inexpensive. The drivers are all skilled in assisting visitors with tourist information. Car rentals are available from all the international operators who have a presence in the City and at the Airport.
